Due to continued support work of the Jefferson Way Tunnel project four parking spaces will be closed on the north side of Jefferson Way, west of 35th Street and five parking spaces, two are service spaces in the SE Corner of the Radiation Center will not be available. The closure will be February 21 -23, 2018 (View Map).

All air compressors will be shut down in Owen Hall February 28, 2018 from 6:00 am to 11:00 am while preventative maintenance is performed on the compressors. This will affect the building air and lab air. This may cause cooler than normal building temperatures during this time.

The exhaust fans in Ag. Life & Sciences Building will be shut down while the air filters and preventative maintenance is performed. Maintenance work on lab exhaust fan system will be February 13, 2018 from 6:00 am – 11:00 am. Only one fan (of three) will be serviced at any one time, so sufficient exhaust capacity will be maintained. Lab users are asked to completely close the sash on all fume hoods not in active use to help minimize exhaust requirements.

The RO/DI water system will be shut down in Richardson Hall beginning February 6, 2018 for emergency repairs to a D.I water pump. This will not affect the main water supply to the building just labs with RO/DI systems. A second notice will follow when the D.I. water pump has been restored.

Due to construction, 26th street between SW Campus Way and SW Orchard Ave. (see map) will be closed February 2018 through May 2018. Crews will be installing new steam and condensate lines from the tunnel at Campus Way north to the intersection of 26th street and Orchard. Currently 26th street is scheduled to close on February 2nd 2018 and reopen on May 28th 2018.  Pedestrian traffic will not be impacted, northbound and southbound sidewalks will remain open. We will add an update to this notification when we have more precise details on the construction schedule.

Each year Facilities Services performs necessary maintenance on the university’s steam system, which requires shutting off the steam throughout campus, to complete maintenance services at the plant, throughout the steam tunnels and in each building.  This process affects hot water supply, heating, and all equipment that uses steam, campus wide.  The steam shutdown for 2018 will occur June 17th 6:00 pm – June 20th, 2018 4:00 pm.
