There are so many different companies in the world, all with different amount of employees and all treat their employees very differently through their Human Resources Department. I read through Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For 2020 and picked some topped companies that demonstrate Human Resources.
Hilton is one of the leading hospitality companies in the world, with thousands of properties and employees. Out of all of them, 97% of Hilton employees say that it is a great place to work, saying that you are felt welcomed, the management is honest, ethical and approachable, and they are extremely competent at running the business.
Another top company, Cisco, is an information technology company that has 96% of their employees saying it is great to work there. Employees at Cisco say they are able to take time off when needed, they are felt welcomed, management is honest and ethical, and everyone cares about each other.
Another top information technology company, Salesforce, brings companies and customers together through digital technology and software and has 90% of their roughly 42,000 U.S. employees saying it is a great place to work. Like the previous companies I listed, they also say they are welcomed when they first joined the company, as well is management is always honest and ethical in business practices, facilities contributing to a good working environment, and they are contributing to the community in a positive way.
Many of these top companies that employees enjoy working for always share some common comments, and most of them always revolve around Human Resources and they are the core for keeping happy workers. As a manager, I would like to be one that welcomes everyone and lets them be themselves, as well as letting them know that their personal life comes before work. If they need to take care of themselves and their health, let them as work can come later. I do believe that a manager’s job can be challenging at times with handling all their employees. Having respect from every single one when you have hundreds can be difficult as you will have to make sacrifices and compromises here and there.
