What we do…
CCMGA Community Outreach Programs
Although Master Gardener trainees learn quite a bit about how to care for their own yards and gardens from their training, the Master Gardener Program, at its core, is a public service program. Toward this end, we work to
- Ensure our information is accurate, up-to-date, and focused on sustainable approaches and methods.
- Keep an up-to-date online presence so that more of our information is easily accessible to a broad audience.
- Market our services to the general public to increase awareness of Extension Master Gardeners resources and opportunities, and to build public support for the Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener Program.
Current CCMGA community projects include:
The OSU Extension Office/Information Line – Tuesdays May thru October from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Master Gardeners research answers to questions, give advice, help local gardeners solve problems, and refer problems to extension agents when necessary.
Plant Clinic booths at the Astoria Sunday Market, from May to October….and at the Cannon Beach Farmers Market on Tuesday during the market season. Master Gardeners give gardening advice and answer gardener’s questions.
