Carissa Bunnell

Pattie Maes is an incredible woman who has devoted much of her professional career to advancements in technology. She is currently an associate professor at MIT where she works in a Media Lab and directs the Software Agents Group, which she also founded. Mrs. Maes was born and raised in Belgium where she obtained her education. In the mid 1980′s the technology field was no place for a women. But Mrs. Maes faced those stereotypes and broke many of them down.

Dr. Pattie Maes is a remarkable computer scientist that has made many contributions to her field and will continue to do so. She broke through a stereotype of women in science in an era that was just developing computers. But continues to break down stereotypes of women in science by her latest discoveries and devices. Patties Maes deserves great respect and recognition as a computer scientist as well as a woman.
