This is a pre-entry level (intern) development position that works primarily in coding defect fixes, updating the group web sites, lab efforts, and unit test generation and/or tools evaluations. The individual filling this intern position will work with existing designs and code, testing integration, and supporting software products. Position implies a high interest in being exposed to all aspects of a software development environment. Position works in a variety of disciplines, stressing the ability to learn new technical skills.

• Performs tasks using formal software development methodologies and specified R&D and/or departmental procedures
• Acts as a team resource in problem identification and working it to resolution
• Develops and designs tests for the critical system software products to meet product

Requirements:
• Gains experience in conventional and Agile software development environments
• Works with the documentation, training, and QA groups to complete development process
• Actively participates in the integration, testing and troubleshooting of teams’ products using internal tests and tools
• Acts as a key resource in problem identification and working it to resolution

Qualifications

• At least a college junior class standing pursuing a BA degree in Computer Science, Math, or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years programming experience required
• Good understanding of testing and reporting methods
• PHP and web application development experience
• Working knowledge of SQL MS SQL and PostgreSQL
• A strong plus is Powershell, VMware, AJAX, Java Script
• Nice to have Systems experience required in both Linux and Windows environments
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as a team member
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines, often with time and resource constraints
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems, demonstrate problem solving and resourcefulness in obtaining information
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and multiple tasks while coordinating with other team members’ activities
