Recycling/Surplus – November Repair Fair set for the 26th

November 19th, 2012

Repair Fair graphicCome to the Recycling Warehouse at 644 SW 13th Street on Monday, November 26 between the hours of 6 and 8 pm for our second Repair Fair, this one for the month of November.

Bring your broken items and questions; volunteers will help you learn how to repair your things (see list below for what’s on offer this month)! Save money, save natural resources.

This month, repair skills are offered for:

  • Appliances (small items only, please)
  • Bicycles
  • Clothing
  • Computers (software and hardware)
  • Electronics (small items only, please)
  • Housewares (ceramics, lamps, etc.)
  • Jewelry
  • Vacuums

Note: We don’t have spare parts, but will do our best to repair what we can and/or refer you to where you could find the parts you need. If you have parts already, we may be able to help you install them.

Directions: Enter through the warehouse gates on 13th St., between the railroad tracks and A Ave. (view on Google Maps).

Repair Fairs are sponsored by Campus Recycling and the Student Sustainability Initiative, and will occur monthly during the 2012-13 academic year (except December).

We did help with a multi-disc player at the last Repair Fair, so you might as well bring it and we’ll try our best!

Yahoo!! My lamp works. I went to the November Repair Fair with a broken lamp and returned with a working lamp. Unfortunately, my bulb was broken so we couldn’t test it at the fair, but I plugged in a new bulb this morning, and it WORKS. Please convey my thanks to Kaisha (????) the young woman who was doing houseware repairs.
