tra-ma-tra-ma-tramampoline!!!!

Happy birthday to Anders and Nora! The trampoline is a joint birthday present, coming in between their birthdays (well, enough for their understanding anyway). Special thanks to Grandma Gigi for enthusiastically and financially making it happen. We have 2 very happy kids!

It took 2 weeks to arrive, which meant 2 weeks of mounting anticipation. The ladder and anchoring kit arrived first (thankfully). The 2 BIG packages showed up on our front walk today. It took about 1.5 hours to set it up with surprisingly little frustration.

Anders and I got the first secret jump after we finished setting up the enclosure. Nora was inside finishing her bath, and she didn’t mind finding us on it when she ran out. It’s so fun! The kids will have to give me an occasional turn too! We haven’t seen Ted on it yet. He will be out there tomorrow.

I look forward to laying in the hammock and reading a book while the kids bounce themselves silly. I’m also taking bets on how long it takes until the novelty wears off. And on how long it takes until we get a field of broken kids laying in the grass.

In an unrelated note, Nora cracked me up today. We were looking at the Español Diccionario Ilustrado, a book with pictures and their Spanish words. I was trying to point out and teach Nora a few words. She kept talking over me in her gibberish Spanish sounds, which are quite convincing to a barely-Spanish speaker like myself. Finally she barked out, “mama, how to you say ‘don’t interrupt me’ in Spanish?” Touché, my darling. Well said.
