Herptiles visit camp
Lovely Liz the Lizard Lady brought many of her scaly friends to visit camp Friday evening. Liz, an educator and expert on reptiles and amphibians, taught the campers about her favorite subject; then as many campers as wanted to got to hold all the various snakes, lizards, turtles, geckos and alligators that they wanted to. A great way for the campers to learn that reptiles need to be “respected”, but not necessarily “feared”.

Earth creatures which visited our dorm included snakes, turtles, lizards and an alligator named Nero.

Hey Rico – Nice picture with the lizard! Don’t get any ideas though…no lizards in our house!
Hope today was as awesome as last week for you!
Keep having fun!

Alligaters Rule!!!!!!! But they squirm a lot.
I HELD A SNAKE!!!!!! i’ve never held a tamed snake before. they feel awesome!
I fulfilled a lifelong dream the other day! I wore a snake like a scarf! I also learned a lot of really great stuff about reptiles like how they can mimic another (more dangerous) species with their appearance or their behavior. Super cool and interesting!
the animals were awesome because the eyelash gecho felt like a cloth. and the snakes felt like rubber or plastic.
verry fun i learned that some snakes have transparent eye lids to see under water very interesting. got to hold a ton of animals
I am going to have to get a bearded dragon. I think that it would make a good pet. now i know what it will do if it feels threatened.
Can I get a snake, turtle, or lizard mom? Please?
this was so fun:). We all got to hold a bunch of different reptiles. I got to hold a turtle, baby turtle, bearded dragon, 3 different snakes, and a gecko!:D It was awesome. The baby turtle was sooo adorable!! the snakes were kinda scary though.:P

Bethany,
Do you think Chelsey would ever let you get anything that is even distantly relaed to a snake in the house. Good luck with that. what about the little time you spend with oliver?
