Science Camp Meets Philomath Robot!

Our campers met Phred today! Phred is the robot built by the Philomath High School Robotics Engineering Division… the robotic club at Philomath High. They learned about how the team built the robots and all the awards they have won with Phred. Check out the video.

So far Ive been learning about carbon and other stuff. Ive had alot of fun and enjoy the computer lab. i like the food and THIS CAMP RULES

This summer science camp is THE BOMB!!! I love it here everything here is so awesome. The food is great, the people are fun and the teachers are SWEEEEET!! I am learning so much here. I love it.

Today was another great day at camp. We woke up at 7:15 and got ready to go to breakfast. After breakfast we headed back to the meeting area to get ready to go to class. The night before last a preposition had been made; each POD had to sing a song and perform it in front of all the other PODs. My POD, (the POD 6 girls, aka- “The Wolf Pack”) decided to make their own lyrics to the tune of “Say Say Oh Playmate”. The POD 8 boys decided to sing “We Will Rock You”, while the eighth grade girls decided to make their own song to the tune of the same song as the POD 8 boys. In the end the POD 7 boys won the competition getting first, then the POD 7 girls claimed second, and us POD 6 girls received third place.

I took Blaze into be weighed and he still doesn’t weigh enough (I think he’s staying under 2 lbs on purpose) so he’s looking over my shoulder as I write to you. WE rescued a little baby turkey from Butter this morning and the Maddox’s brought over a cage and we made him a little home for a couple days while he heals and grows

Yesterday we went to chintimini Wildlife Center it was really cool i learned how to tell a herbivore and omnivore and a carnivore aport from looking at the teeth on its skull it was Awesome

Today we’re going to the Tsunami Wave Lab right after this class. I guy gave us a presentation about tsunami’s and how they were dangerous. When he asked us what we would do if a tsunami hit, Jed said he would curl up in a ball. Everyone laughed at that and it took a while to everyone to get settled down again. Xavier- the tsunami dude- showed us some of the experiments they had been doing at the wave lab. The videos showed a house getting knocked down with a wave that had been created. It was pretty cool.
