Women in Pharmacy Luncheon 2019

The 6th annual OSU College of Pharmacy Women in Pharmacy Luncheon on Friday May 3rd , 2019 was held at our Robertson Life Sciences Building in Portland was a fantastic gathering of our Women alumni and friends
of the College.

This year’s luncheon started with an amazing presentation from Dr. Lorinda Anderson, Oregon Leading the Nation in Pharmacist Prescribing. Following legislature signed July 6th 2015, a continuing education certification was created allowing pharmacists to prescribe hormonal contraceptives. Dr. Anderson discussed with guests the current progress across the nation and future goals including prescribing acute treatments, antimicrobials and chronic medications.

Susan Poole (’69), Women in Pharmacy Chair, and Paige Clark (’85), Director of Alumni Relations and Professional Development reflected on past and
future initiatives.
Sami Vosike (’21), Jessica Hendrix (’21) and Sharon Rask (’88) updated guests on the first year of Rx for Success. Many students utilized Rx for Success to obtain professional clothing for Career Day interviews. A Certificate of Appreciation was given to Shari Dunn the Executive Director for Oregon Dress for Success for her partnership with College of Pharmacy to help make Rx for Success a victory. She urged many of the current students to continue seeking resources from Dress for Success including courses in Work/Life Balance and Professionalism.
Special thanks to Betty Young (’80), Cydreese Aebi (’80), Diane Brown (’80) and Trish White (’80) for traveling all the way from Alaska & Georgia to participate in our Women in Pharmacy Luncheon. The four are celebrating their 40 year reunion with the Class of 1980 in Fall of 2020. This year’s 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 year class reunions, which take place during Homecoming, will honor the years of the 9’s. If this is your reunion year and you would like to help us encourage your class’s attendance please contact Paige Clark (’85) at Paige.Clark@oregonstate.edu.

Thank you again to all who joined us at the 6th annual Women in Pharmacy Luncheon and we look forward to continued engagement with this inspiring group of alumni.
