Student Recognition Banquet 2019

Students were acknowledged in front of peers and faculty for their hard work over the past year at the Student Recognition Banquet held on May 30, 2019 at the Corvallis campus CH2M Hill Alumni Center. A huge thank you to Samaritan Health Services for sponsoring this years event!
Interim Dean Mark Leid presented the Outstanding Leadership awards to 34 students and Academic Awards to 10 students which included Justin Donat (’22) and Christopher Lee (’22) with highest GPAs in the P1 Class, David Kim (’21) with highest GPA in the P2 class, and Maria Herbison (’20) with highest GPA in the P3 class.

Guests enjoyed a self-composed song and guitar performance from Victor Rojo (’20) titled “2020” and a comedic “A Whole Drug World” sung to the melody of Aladdin duet featuring Carly Shick (’21) and Dr. BJ Philmus.
This years Unsung Hero awards were presented to Caitlyn Morris (’22), Quyen Merbs (’22), Karina Destine (’21), Brian Destine (’20) and Jessica Niculcea (’19). The Unsung Hero award recipient is chosen by each class and is someone who goes above and beyond to be a support to their peers. Each class also chose a Professor of the Year, this year’s awardees were Theresa Filtz, Susan Morley, and Craig Williams.

Each class also presented videos and slideshows highlighting their 2018-2019 academic year during the banquet and individual students submitted videos for a Lip Sync Competition.

A special thank you to our students, Isabella Daher (’22) and Emma Brown (’21) for coordinating such an amazing evening!
