2018 White Coat Ceremony

On September 28, 2018 the College of Pharmacy welcomed the Class of 2022 into the OSU/OHSU Pharm.D. program at the 2018 White Coat Ceremony. Students where joined by family who witnessed their student take the Pharmacist’s Pledge of Professionalism. Students where welcomed to the college and to the profession by College of Pharmacy faculty who also presented them with their first white coat.

Thank you to faculty members Dr. Gary DeLander, Dr. Arup Indra, Dr. Maude David, Dr. Lorinda Anderson, Dr. Theresa Filtz, Dr. Kerry McPhail, Dr. BJ Philmus, and Dr. Gregory Zumach.

Steve Certo, Director of Pharmacy for Albertsons-Safeway Pharmacy, spoke to the students about “knowing the impact you can make” by sharing stories from his career and how the profession helped him touch the lives of his patients. Dr. Zach McCall (’06), recipient of the 2016 College of Pharmacy Outstanding Young Alumni Award, also addressed the students and provided helpful insight and advice as to how professional appearance and behavior serves as a means of expanding a patient’s trust in their providers.
