ASHP Clinical Skills Competition

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Clinical Skills Competition (ASHP CSC) is an annual competition that occurs at the beginning of each school year. The CSC is comprised of a 2-hour written assessment followed by oral presentations. A total of 16 teams representing both the Corvallis and Portland campuses participated in the CSC: five P1 teams, four P2 teams, two P3 teams, and five P4 teams.

The written portion of the CSC was held on October 13th and the oral presentations were held on October 20th. For the first part of the competition, pairs of students from the same class were presented with a patient case and asked to write a pharmacist care plan within a time limit of two hours.

The results of the written competition are:

2nd Place P3 team: Yan Zhuo and Jackie Verlinich

The 1st place winners, P4s Alex Boyd and Victor Tran, went on to represent the College in the national competition at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, December 3.
