Color: Dark amber
Smell: Citrus, floral
Taste: Kind of a light wheat and carmel taste. Some citrus notes.
Overall: The first time I tried this beer was at the Deschutes Brewery in Bend, and I have to say; everything tastes better when you’re drinking it at the source. I liked the beer a lot and decided to get a 6 pack to take home. It’s a great winter beer to enjoy on a cold, rainy Oregon night.
Fun Fact: The term IPA (India Pale Ale) originated when British soldiers traveling by boat to India couldn’t find a decent beer because the beer they brought aboard would spoil before reaching port due to the heat. As a solution they added a copious amount of hops to their traditional ales to protect it from the heat and the ship’s motion, and thus creating the India Pale Ale.
