Being so bound to my degree in Public Health I have to say the best part about Texas Health Resources Inc. is their employees like how they contribute to their community. They feel pride, they know that they help their community while feeling welcome with the right tools that they need. That alone puts them above the typical company. A word map assessed that people more commonly put “people” as what makes it so good to work for them in a survey and as a veteran I can appreciate it due to missing the clowns but not the circus! In 2024 they scored best work place in health care. I know this is due to these reasons above but in my opinion I think it also comes down to the ability for virtual appointments and employee flexibility while also promoting a people first attitude just making employees have their own autonomy. I, as a manager, want people to have their own autonomy and I fully believe that people want to work and feel competent in their field, though this only applies to people who want to be there and feel they are paid while having support from HR. Put simply: if you don’t think you have people supporting you then you just simply won’t go the extra mile and that means setting up good employees for success. The type of manager I want to be is someone who sits back and passively lets people all achieve their successes while I just get them to it. The most challenging part of that is just finding people who want it like you do and getting them paid the way they deserve so they stay.
