marks the end of the Cabinet’s first week at work! We have had a long, successful first 5 days of transitioning into our new positions, rearranging the Task Force Director office space, hosting the honorable Buddhist Monks and supportive faculty/community members during the office blessing, and attending the Oregon Student Association transition retreat at Lane Community College in Eugene. This week has set the tone for the rest of the summer, and it looks like we’re headed into our new positions with full force.
As the newest addition to the Executive Cabinet, I can also say that this week has been very inspiring. Now, more than ever, I recognize how vital transparency and accountability are as a representative and advocate for my peers. Without transparency there is a lack of trust from the community, and key issues affecting the community will never be discovered. Without accountability leadership turns into power, and power is often one sided. I am confident that our diverse Cabinet strives to represent and advocate for all students, and does not limit ourselves to only the OSU campus but also students across Oregon and throughout the nation.
This is going to be one amazing year, and I’m so thankful to have this chance to grow and serve my community!
