Week 1 MGMT 448

My recent job application experience started when I applied to a company that I talked to through Indeed earlier this year. After talking with this company, I was extremely excited to give the recruiters my necessary information as they had given me their email and told me that they liked what I had to say and to email them with more information, as they would follow up shortly. After waiting what seemed like forever they told me that they are considering my resume and that I would have to keep waiting. After not getting a response after a few months, I had given up hope of a follow up response from this company. After this experience the first thing that came to my mind is how often they can move-on from considering you, and how it happens in a heartbeat. At that moment when they said they would get back to me and they left me hanging, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn’t want to work at that company, even if they gave me a job offer right out of school. 

The experience of having to wait for any type of response kept me stressing out throughout the entire process. If they had told me earlier that I wasn’t being considered for the final position that is one thing, but to just ghost the applicant is something that will always feel wrong to me. After reviewing this job application process in my head, what I would do differently is make sure that the company that I am applying for is not the only one and not to put all eggs in one basket, as you never know which way that the company will be headed! Overall It left me wanting to be professional with applicants as I progress and start my HR career, and hope that I dont put an applicant through that type of application experience!
